Be Disciples, Make Disciples, Make a Difference

First Time Visitors

Welcome to Tyro UMC!

Here are a few common questions that you may have as someone interested in visiting our church. If you don’t find what you are looking for, please contact us.

  • Where is Tyro United Methodist Church located?

Our address is 4484 S NC Hwy 150, Lexington, NC. Our main entrance is found under the drop-off area. Go through the glass doors and the sanctuary will be to your left.

  • When do you worship?

We have worship service at 10:00am on Sunday mornings. We also offer Sunday School classes beginning at 9:00 am.

  • How many people attend?

Our average attendance is about 400 between our two worship services. We also have many followers who watch our weekly television broadcasts.

  • What should I wear?

Some worshipers are comfortable in casual clothes, while others feel more comfortable in suits and dresses. We welcome you to come dressed as you wish.

  • Where do I park?

There is ample parking at the church, but we reserve several parking spots across from the entrance for visitors.

  • How would you describe your worship style?

We offer blended services that allow us to worship and uplift God in many ways. Rev. Randy Foster delivers strong messages with great meaning so that we may apply God’s word to our everyday lives. You may want to watch a video of one of his sermons. The music encompasses both traditional and contemporary – we sing contemporary praise and worship songs as well as traditional hymns. We also enjoy diverse musical groups including a praise and worship band, handbells, choir, and small ensembles that utilize a wide variety of musical genres.

  • Is childcare provided?

We have a nursery for children ages birth to 24 months. Children’s church is available for children ages 2 to 4.

  • Is there a Youth program?

Yes! Our youth meet Sunday evenings at 4:30 pm. They are involved in many activities throughout the year, including retreats and mission trips.

Hopefully this gives you a good idea of what a Sunday morning is like at Tyro, but the only way you’ll truly get the experience is if you come and visit. We can’t wait to meet you!
